Jesus is approached by some of John the Baptist's disciples, who sought to follow Him. This is the question Jesus asked them: What are you looking for? It was important for Jesus to ask, for He wanted those who wanted to follow Him to know exactly what they were getting into. They at that initial moment knew only what their master John has told them, that this was the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. That is an intriguing thing to know, but did they know it would involve three years of hard ministry, that would end with the death of Jesus and eventually their own death? Did they know that Jesus would ask them to take up their cross and follow Him?
It is good to look for the righteous things in life. If you have found and follow Jesus, you're on the right path. Still, the question remains for us: What are you looking for?
