This was the second question the boy Jesus asked His parents. They had lost Him and spend three days looking for Him, and finally found Him in the Temple. He first asked why they were looking for Him, and then this question: Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?
Jesus knew His father, and loved being in His Father's house. You have to stop and wonder if perhaps the Temple was not yet the marketplace it became some 20-plus years later when Jesus overturned tables in anger. This house was the house Jesus loved, as a place to worship, to learn, and to become the person God wanted Him to be.
If we're honest, there's no better place for us to be at least once a week, than the house of the Lord, our Father.
Are you known as one who can be found in your Father's house?
